Privacy Statement

Thank you for visiting www.biotestuk.com, the website of Biotest UK Ltd. (hereinafter “Biotest”), thus showing your interest in our organisation, products and Web pages.

We attach great importance to the protection of your privacy when using our Web pages; the purpose of this statement is to inform you how your data is processed by Biotest.

Through this Website, Biotest collects data and information about you as follows:

Web Server logs. You can, in principle, visit our Web pages without disclosing your identity. As is usual with virtually all Web pages, however, when you visit our Web pages, the server on which our Web pages are located (hereinafter the “Web Server”) automatically collects information about you in Web Server logs. The Web Server automatically recognises certain data such as your IP address, the date and time of your visits, the pages on our website visited by you, the website visited by you before, the browser (e.g., Internet Explorer) and operating system (e.g., Windows 2000) used by you, as well as the domain name and address of your Internet provider (e.g., AOL). If our website uses cookies (as explained below), the Web Server will also store the relevant information.

We evaluate those Web Server logs on a regular basis in order to ascertain which pages of our website are visited. Thereby, we can get a more precise idea as to the use of our website. This is generally referred to as “Web statistics” and it enables us to optimise our services. In addition, we may use that information in cooperation with your Internet provider and/or public authorities in the event of a misuse of the system to locate the originator of such misuse.

IP addresses. This website uses Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. An IP address is a number assigned to your computer by your Internet provider to provide you with access to the Internet. An IP address will normally change every time you access the Internet, i.e., it is a “dynamic” address. Please note, however, if you use a broadband connection, that your IP address stored by us, or also a cookie used by us, may contain information that makes you identifiable as a person, as your IP address will not change with some broadband connections (i.e., it is “static”) and can thus be linked to your PC. IP addresses are used as a part of the Web Server log data referred to above.

Web beacons. Some of our Web pages use so-called “web beacons” - also referred to as “single-pixel GIFs” - or measurement codes that render it possible to prepare Web Server logs. A web beacon is a graphic image on a Web page or in an email that renders it possible to track the visited pages. That information is automatically gathered in a Web Server log when you visit our Web pages.

Cookies. Some of our Web pages use cookie technology. A “cookie” is a piece of information that is sent by our Web Server to your computer (or, more exactly, that is filed in your browser directory), once you visit the page. We use cookies for statistical purposes to analyse the interest in our Web pages. As a standard, most browsers are currently set in such a manner that they automatically accept cookies. You can, however, set your browser such that it refuses cookies or displays them before.
Please note that your refusal to create cookies on your computer may result in certain restrictions in visits of Web pages of Biotest or in your no longer being able to access certain parts of this website (or linked Web pages).

Collection, processing, use and transmission. Other than within the scope of our Web statistics, we will only collect data about you if the data is disclosed by you in order to use one of the services offered by us (such as the sending of information or inquiries). That data will then be processed and/or used exclusively to render the services offered by us.

Your personal data will not be transmitted to third parties.

Safety. Please note that the transmission of data through the Internet is not secure and that there exists the danger of third parties intercepting and using the data. You are free to provide us with your data by mail or over the phone at any time to the following address or under the following phone number, respectively:
