Board of management

The three members of the board of management jointly share responsibility for the company’s management. The management tasks of the board of management include strategic planning, allocation of resources, accounting and financial reporting, risk management and control for the group.

Dr Michael Ramroth

Chairman of the board of management/ Chief Financial Officer

Dr Ramroth is Chairman of the board of management since May 1, 2019 - a member of the Board of Management since 2004. He joined Biotest in 2003 from a position as Chairman for Business Development at Metallgesellschaft Technologies AG. From 1999 he had worked as CFO for the same company. He was CEO of CeramTec AG from 1997 to 1999 and Director of Business Development at Metallgesellschaft AG from 1990 to 1997. Dr Ramroth is an attorney and has a doctorate in economics.

Dr Georg Floß

Chief Operations Officer

Dr Floss has been a member of the board of management of Biotest AG since 2013. He was previously Director of Plasma Protein Operations (from 2008) and CEO of Biotest Pharmaceuticals Corporation in Boca Raton (2011/2012). From 1999 to 2008 he worked at CSL Behring GmbH, taking on responsibility for the entire manufacturing division in Marburg in 2005. His first professional experiences included manufacturing as well as research and development in veterinary medicine at Bayer AG, and positions as manufacturing production manager and Director of Production Technical Management at Hoechst Roussel Veterinär GmbH. Dr Floss earned a doctorate in virology after graduating in veterinary medicine.




Dr. Jörg Schüttrumpf

Chief Scientific Officer

In January 2022 Dr. Schüttrumpf has been appointed to the Board of Management at Biotest AG. Since 2015 he was responsible for the Research & Development Division, and since 2012 for Global Research at Biotest AG. Before, Dr. Schüttrumpf worked at different academic and non-government organizations in Germany and the US, among those the German Red Cross Blood Donor Service, the Goethe University Frankfurt, the University Hospital of Essen, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Schüttrumpf has studied medicine, is specialized in transfusion medicine and haemostaseology, and has a Master of Business Administration from IMD Business School. Dr. Jörg Schüttrumpf was born in 1974.
