The management board manages the company under its own responsibility. The tasks of the management board include, in particular, strategic management, allocation of resources, accounting and financial reporting, as well as risk management and control of the group.
Prof. Dr. Jörg Schüttrumpf
Managing Director
Since April 15, 2026, Prof. Dr. Jörg Schüttrumpf has been Managing Director of Biotest Management GmbH, the general partner with unlimited liability of Biotest GmbH & Co. KGaA. In May 2025, he was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of Biotest AG at that time.
Within the larger group, Prof. Dr Schüttrumpf served as Chief Scientific Innovation Officer at Grifols until March 2026, where, from 2023 onwards, he played a key role in driving initiatives to improve patient care through innovative plasma-derived medicines and other biopharmaceuticals. Prior to this, he had held various roles at Biotest since 2012, most recently as Chief Scientific Officer and a member of the Executive Board from 2022 to 2024. Before joining Biotest in 2012, he worked at various academic and non-governmental organisations in Germany and the USA. These include the German Red Cross Blood Donation Service, Goethe University Frankfurt, the Georg Speyer House Institute for Chemotherapy Research in Frankfurt, Essen University Hospital, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and the University of Pennsylvania. He studied medicine at the University of Vienna and the Albert Ludwig University of Frankfurt, and holds an MBA from the IMD Business School in Lausanne. In addition, Prof. Dr Schüttrumpf teaches at Goethe University Frankfurt in the field of transfusion medicine and haemostaseology.
